Man in Health and Disease
Prevention and Management of Lifestyle Diseases

The Scientific Conference Man in Health and Disease – prevention and management of civilization diseases, organized for the seventh time by the Faculty of Health Protection of the University of Tarnów, is behind us.

The conference was characterized by a high level and met with great interest, not only from specialists related to health care, but also from students, high school students and the local community. The aim of the conference was to disseminate knowledge in the field of prevention of civilization diseases, as well as to eliminate their effects within a comprehensive management program. Attention was also paid to the impact of pandemics and armed conflicts on the physical and mental health of the individual and the functioning of society. The latest developments in the field of medical technologies were also presented.

As part of the planned thematic sessions, a select group of scientists from Poland, Hungary, Great Britain and Spain shared their knowledge and experience. During the speeches, the importance of cooperation between various fields of science and medicine was emphasized, as well as the role of an interdisciplinary team in the effective solution of health problems.

During the afternoon poster session, everyone had the opportunity to learn in detail about the dozens of topics prepared and exchange views with their authors.

Thanks to the courtesy of our sponsors (Geronimo Rehabilitation Center, Grafit Sports Academy, Xtreme Fitness Gyms, Pofam Medical Store – Poznań, SFD Tarnów – Supplements and Nutrients) at the end of the poster session, attractive prizes were drawn among all active and passive participants. To take part in the competition, all you had to do was write a short poem related to the subject of the conference or the Tarnów Academy. The competition had a double impact on the health of the participants – firstly, the poems made a lot of smiles (we all know that laughter is health), and secondly – all the prizes contributed to the improvement of health and physical fitness.

Throughout the day, participants had the opportunity to establish cooperation with researchers from centers from all over the country and abroad. Further research and practices contributing to the improvement of health and quality of life of modern society were also inspired by conversations held during the evening banquet.

The book of Abstracts of the Conference Man in Health and Disease is available on the Conference website, we invite you to download it. We also encourage you to send us entire articles on the subject matter presented by you. These articles may be published in a post-conference monograph or in the journal Health Promotion & Physical Activity (eISSN 2544-9117). We provide a quick review.

We would like to thank all participants for their participation in our Conference and friends of the Tarnów Academy for their help in organizing this event. We invite all of you to the next edition of the Conference, which will take place in two years.
