Preface

Arthur Schopenhauer’s philosophical statement: “Although health is certainly not everything, without health everything is nothing” makes us think deeply about its value.

We all probably agree with Thomas Fuller that “Disease is always an unexpected guest.” Therefore, it is worth taking to heart the words of Pliny the Elder: “Today, take care of your health so that you don’t have to dream about it when you are in trouble.”
We would like to present to you another, seventh study devoted to the dissemination of knowledge in the field of preventing lifestyle diseases and eliminating their effects within a comprehensive treatment program.

This time, a significant place among the included studies is occupied by: the preventive aspect of health education in lifestyle diseases, physical activity as an essential element of proper development and health, health risks and benefits resulting from practicing sports and recreation, a holistic approach to patient therapy and care, and health society in the face of 21st century threats.
A natural consequence of the experiences of recent years were also emphasis on assessing the impact of the pandemic on the physical and mental health of individuals and entire communities, as well as reports on the use of AI in therapy.

We hope that, like previous conference papers, this one will also be an opportunity to get acquainted with current scientific achievements in the wide area of knowledge of the Health Sciences discipline and will become a platform for exchanging experiences at a high level of scientific discourse. We trust that the experience of previous years will be of great interest to health care professionals, patients and the local community.

The knowledge and experience you will gain from reading the conference study Man in health and disease. Let prevention and treatment of lifestyle diseases confirm the words of the American writer Franklin Adams that “Health is the factor that gives us the feeling that we are in the best period of our lives.” Let us appreciate its value and let this awareness be a strong motivation to take care of our own health, because a lot in this respect depends on us.
